Cabrini Foundation
The Cabrini Mission of providing compassionate, competent care applies to the delivery of excellent health care services and service to the wider community. The Foundation supports the work of Cabrini Health through actively pursuing funding for education and research, capital equipment and our social outreach programmes.
Your gift to The Foundation will go a long way to investing in the health of our communities. All gifts to Cabrini Foundation are sincerely appreciated and they do make a difference. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Unrestricted funds (giving that is not designated to any specific area or program) are especially important because it ensures we have the flexibility to fund priority areas and respond to opportunities that arise. You may also choose to offer restricted donations and direct your support to any of Cabrini Health’s services or departments.
How you can make a difference.
Your donation to:
- Cabrini Hospital will help improve facilities, equipment and services so that we can further improve the excellent delivery of our acute care services.
- The Cabrini Institute will help us to conduct clinical research in our five academic units within the Institute – the Cabrini Monash University Academic Surgical Unit, the Medical Oncology Unit, the Departments of Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology and the Professorial Nursing Unit. This research will ensure that “improved patient care” is a top priority for Cabrini Hospital.
- Cabrini Palliative Care will allow us to update facilities and provide equipment and services for those with an incurable progressive illness.
- Cabrini Residential Care will enable us to maintain our world-class hostel and nursing home.
- Cabrini Outreach will assist us to support homeless people, help youth at risk and offer an employment integration program as well as provide education and medical services programs in Zimbabwe, Swaziland, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Laos.
Cabrini Institute
Support is essential for the Cabrini Institute to achieve its mission of “improving patient care through research and education” The Institute is self-funded and incorporates five departments:
- Cabrini Deakin Centre for Nursing Research
- Cabrini Monash University Department of Medicine
- Cabrini Monash University Academic Surgical Department (including Tackling Bowel Cancer)
- Monash University Department of Clinical Epidemiology at Cabrini Hospital
- Cabrini Monash University Department of Medical Oncology
Education - Scholarships
Cabrini is a university teaching hospital, with undergraduate medical, nursing and allied health students. In addition we encourage further education. However, many nursing and allied health graduates are only able to do post-graduate studies because of the generosity and support of private donors. Further education is essential to providing specialist skills to patients and privately supported scholarships allow us to recruit and retain professionals from around the nation and overseas.
