Patient Information - Rehabilitation Patients
As part of your rehabilitation at Cabrini Hopetoun, you will be expected to be up and dressed for daily therapy. One of the aims of rehabilitation is to develop a normal routine. We therefore ask you to bring the following items with you:
- A tracksuit or comfortable slacks/trousers.
- Supportive fitting shoes, (No thongs or scuffs).
- Changes of clothing, including underwear.
- Swimwear (for hydrotherapy). .
- Night clothes, dressing gown and slippers.
- Toiletries, brush and comb.
- Books, magazines or hobbies.
- Allcurrent medications you are taking (No dosettes).
- Xrays requested by your doctor.
- Health cards and private heath fund details.
- Medicare card
- Pension card.
- Equipment such as walking aids, splints, and dressing equipment will be provided while in hospital should you not have your own.
Please do not bring valuables or large sums of money with you,
as the hospital has no facilities for safe keeping and is not able
to accept resposibility for loss or damage.
Visitors are welcome between 4pm and 8pm Monday to Saturday and on
Sunday 12 noon to 8pm. As you will be involved in your treatment
program during the day, your visitors visitors will not be permitted
to visit outside these hours.
Direct line telephones are provided in all rooms. STD
calls, ISD and mobile telephone calls will be charged to your account.
Access to newspapers and pharmacy is available
on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, we are not able to launder patients' clothing except
in special circumstances, when a fee of $40 per week will apply.
Hairdressing is available by appointment through the nurses
station.
Electrical appliances must not be brought into the hospital
without prior approval, and on these occasions tested by the hospital
electrician for which a charge will be incurred.
Incoming mail is delivered daily and outgoing mail can beposted
at reception.
