Associate Professor Richardson is currently the Director of the Szalmuk Family Department of Medical Oncology, St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne, and Associate Professor, Monash University. Prior to this he held the position of Director, Department of Medical Oncology & Clinical Haematology, Monash Medical Centre.

He began his Medical Oncology Fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne), completing his training with experience at both Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, and then National Cancer Institute Naval Oncology Branch in Maryland USA.

He has extensively published in the field of lung cancer. His major interests include clinical research in breast cancer, gynaecologic oncology, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and lung cancer. He is currently principal investigator of fourteen clinical trials spanning the fields of breast, ovarian, lung and colorectal cancers. He is a member of MOG, COSA, ASCO, GOG, AACR, and numerous other professional groups. He is a board member of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, and the Victorian Cooperative Oncology Group. He is chairman of Foundation 49, a Cabrini Health initiative in men’s health.
