Cabrini is a private not-for-profit hospital therefore the federal government allows our employees to ‘package’ certain items up to a capped dollar figure without incurring Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT). This allows a tax saving to our employees. It gives employees the flexibility to take part of their salary as approved benefit items (expenses) before PAYG tax is deducted rather than paying for the item with your post tax salary. By salary packaging employees increase their net disposable income by decreasing the tax paid. Cabrini uses Maxxia (select this link to their website) as their salary packaging provider.

Private health insurance

Staff Health Clinic
Cabrini provides its employees with a free GP service on their Malvern Campus. The GP is available to our staff to visit and for assistance with a variety of health assessments and advice.
A 10% discount is available to employees at the Cabrini Gift Shop and the retail Pharmacy – both located on the Malvern Campus
To assist employees deal with stressful or traumatic situations, Cabrini provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). EAP provides short term counselling that is confidential, free and provided by clinically experienced professionals. It offers employees assistance with managing personal and/or work related issues. Cabrini Pastoral Services can assist employees of all religions of spiritual counselling.
EFM Health Club (Hawthorn)
EFM Health Club is located on Cato Street, Hawthorn at the Cabrini Hawthorn campus. They provide an alternative to the ‘big gyms’ for those who prefer smaller facilities with friendly staff and more personalised service. They assist with personal fitness coaching, weight loss and general fitness. They play an important role in keeping Cabrini staff healthy.
Wattletree House Children’s Centre at 171 Wattletree Road, Malvern, provides long day care and an early learning program. They have a number of placements set aside each year for the children of Cabrini employee. Cabrini subsidises the placements at a set amount per day per child.
Cabrini provides professional development courses under the auspices of the department of Education and Staff Development. The department provides a wide range of in-house professional development courses which are available to employees. On offer are scheduled learning programs for employees; management and executive development programs; specialised training, and consultancy in performance management as well as organisational development.
