Nursing At Cabrini - Specialities - Emergency Department
Cabrini Emergency Department first opened in April 2002. It is a busy ED currently treating approximately 21,000 patients per year. These include, medical, surgical and oncology patients and a large number of paediatric patients.
It has 13 treatment bays, including areas for resuscitation and monitoring and a Fast Track Unit which is equipped to care for sporting injuries, lacerations and minor health issues in a timely manner.
The unit is equipped with the latest technology and patients have excellent access to radiology, pathology, cardiac catheterisation and other ancillary services.
Students undertaking the Critical Care Course are offered a rotation through the Emergency Department and all staff have access to ongoing education and clinical support.
