Cabrini Health - Food Service
Cabrini Malvern Food Services provides a cook fresh meal from a varied menu designed to cater for all patients' dietary requirements and preferences. We endeavour to cater for special requests from our patients from an alternate menu, please ask the Nutrition Assistant or Nurse for assistance in choosing a meal to your liking.
We also provide Kosher meals from two reputed suppliers of the Jewish community. Our Meat and poultry is Halal approved.
We use the highest quality Australian produce and take great pride in being pioneers and leaders in our food safety programme.
Food Safety
Cabrini Health has developed an approved Food Safety Plan that meets the Government Legislation ensuring all foods cooked and prepared for our patients is of a high standard. The Plan also meets all the Guidelines under the Victorian Food Act and Food Premises Code. Our yearly Food Safety Audit Certification is a guarantee these standards are maintained.
As part of this Plan, we are required to ensure that any food brought into Cabrini Health sites also meets these Food Safety Standards.
If any family members or friends are bringing food in for patients, care must be taken in its preparation and transportation to avoid any chance of food poisoning.
On request, we provide a range of meals which cater for cultural and religious requirements.
Families who choose to bring in food for patients must follow the information provided to maintain our organisations Food Safety Standards.
Food Not Prepared At Our Facilities
Cabrini Health does not accept any responsibility for any food that is prepared outside our facilities, which is brought in for patients by relatives and visitors.
