Cabrini Monash University Department of Surgery - The Fröhlich West Chair of Surgery
The Chair of Surgery at Cabrini Hospital was established in 1998 as a joint venture between Cabrini Institute and Monash University. It was the first of its kind in the Victorian private medical sector and one of the first in Australia.

Focuses on performing high quality clinical research with an emphasis on answering clinically important questions that can be translated into better quality patient care and outcomes
Cabrini Monash University Department of Medical Oncology - The Szalmuk Family Department of Medical Oncology
Aims to provide compassionate, state-of-the-art care for cancer patients and continued advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of cancer via a combination of research, education and clinical practice.
Cabrini Monash University Department of Medicine
Provides a focus for research and education in Medicine, with an emphasis on research that can be translated into improvements in medical practice and models of care for our older patients.
Szalmuk Family Psycho-oncology Unit
Our unit was established in 2008 and strives to achieve real clinical research outcomes that can make a difference to people's lives. We work to conduct best practice, evidence-based research, clinical interventions and education with respect and understanding.
Allied Health Research Unit
Allied Health commenced a Research Unit in late 2012, led by Senior Research Consultant, Dr Helena Frawley. The aims of this Unit are two-fold: to translate evidence into practice in Allied Health disciplines; and to lead Allied Health research activities at Cabrini, including inter-disciplinary projects and collaboration with medical and nursing research activities.
Palliative Care Research at Cabrini
The Palliative Care Research Program was established in 2014 following the reconfiguration of the palliative care service across Cabrini, and the appointment of a senior research associate to support research endeavours. We aim to focus on clinical translation research that impacts on the holistic care of the patient with a life-limiting illness and their family.
