Mr Richard Chen

I am an experienced Upper Gastrointestinal (Upper GI), obesity and general surgeon working at Cabrini privately and Alfred publicly. My subspecialty training included one year at the Alfred Hospital as a bariatric research fellow (awarded Master of Surgery from Monash University), and two years of ANZGOSA Upper GI training.

I am a highly trained Upper GI cancer surgeon having completed a one year fellowship in Newcastle in the UK, in the highest volume centre for oesophago-gastric cancer in Europe.

I perform laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for reflux/hiatus hernia, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgery for obesity, as well as general surgery for conditions such as inguinal/incisional hernia and gallstones.
