Mr Kristian Bulluss

Neurosurgeon

I am a Neurosurgeon specialising in brain tumours, epilepsy surgery, spinal neurosurgery, deep brain surgery and stimulation. I have experience in the use of minimally invasive approaches to both cranial and spinal neurosurgery.

Following my graduation from the University of Melbourne in 1999, I undertook my internship and basic surgical training at Austin Health. I then entered specialist neurosurgery training working at St George’s Hospital in Sydney and at Austin Health, the Royal Children’s and St Vincent’s Public Hospitals in Melbourne. During this time, I completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne and in 2012 I obtained my fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. In 2012-2013, I undertook a functional neurosurgical fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, United Kingdom. Under Professor Tipu Aziz, I gained surgical expertise in the treatment of movement disorders (including Parkinson’s Disease, dystonia and essential tremor), pain and epilepsy.

I am actively involved in teaching both medical students and neurosurgical training doctors. I have published in both national and international journals and involved in a number of research projects in deep brain stimulation, peripheral nerve repair and minimal invasive spinal surgery.
