Dr Nitesh Nerlekar

I am an academic cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist. I treat aspects of adult cardiology with a special interest in cardiovascular risk prediction and prevention, coronary heart disease, valvular heart disease in men and women and cardio-oncology.

I completed my cardiology training at Monash Heart and the Alfred Hospitals followed by fellowships in advanced echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI at MonashHeart. I also completed a PhD in advanced cardiac CT techniques and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute.

I am currently a National Health and Medical Council Early Career Investigator with academic positions at the Baker, Monash University and the University of Melbourne. I hold a public position at MonashHeart and private position at Cabrini Malvern.
