  • Discuss the mechanism of action of the new GLP1 and GIP receptor agonists
  • Assess the role of incretin therapy in the management of obesity including who is a candidate for therapy, dosing schedules, adverse effects, adjunct behavioural modification, and duration of therapy

SHORT BIO

Dr Kati Matthiesson is an adult endocrinologist with clinical interests in general endocrinology and diabetes. She specialises in the areas of thyroid and pituitary disease, osteoporosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, obesity management and reproductive health.

Dr Matthiesson completed her training including a PhD focusing on fertility at Monash Medical Centre, Monash University and the University of Washington, Seattle, USA. She currently holds a consultant appointment at Monash Health and was Head of Endocrinology at Peninsula Health between 2014 and 2016.
