Bowel cancer affects men and women almost equally, killing over 4000 Australians each year and is the second greatest cause of cancer-related deaths nationally. We know it's possible to save many lives, and even though Australia has one of the highest rates of bowel cancer in the world - it is also the most preventable cancer. If detected early, around 90 per cent of bowel cancer cases can be treated successfully.
