A/Prof Daniel Moon

I am a Urologist specializing in robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer, I hold the highest volume of robotic surgeries in Victoria, having completed over 2000 major procedures.

In 2008, I published the first Australian series on laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, followed by the first Australian robotic cysto-prostatectomy in 2009. At Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, I established a robotic partial nephrectomy program, publishing the first Australian series in 2014 and the largest series in 2017.

Contributing to surgical education, I developed training and credentialing documents for robotic surgery, earning European Association of Urology certification as a trainer. Additionally, I served on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Urology International.

In the area of urological prosthetics, I’ve cultivated a high-volume practice, focusing on restoring continence and potency post-prostate cancer treatment. Noteworthy publications include the largest Australian series on artificial urinary sphincter insertion (2014), suburethral male slings (2017), and penile prostheses for erectile dysfunction (2017).
