A/Prof Mark Ward
Gastroenterologist
I am a gastroenterologist with a focused interest in inflammatory bowel disease, functional gut disorders and bowel cancer prevention. I take a structured, evidence-based approach, aiming to avoid unnecessary testing and provide clear, practical management plans.
I offer timely access to gastroscopy and colonoscopy, with prompt reporting and clear communication back to referring doctors. My focus is on practical care, continuity, and returning patients to their GP where appropriate. I consult out of my rooms in Glen Iris and perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy at both Cabrini and Glen Iris Private, and can admit patients to Cabrini Hospital.
My public appointment is at the Alfred Hospital. I am involved in clinical research in inflammatory bowel disease through the Alfred Hospital and Monash University, participating in national and international studies, and supervising PhD students.
