Mr Abhirup Lobo

I am an Australian-trained specialist orthopaedic surgeon with expertise in reconstructive surgery of the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow.

I completed my medical and surgical training at the University of Melbourne, followed by 10 years of orthopaedic training across major hospitals throughout Australia, during which I performed more than 5,000 surgical procedures. I was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in orthopaedic surgery and have undertaken further training in leading centres across Australia and Europe, developing expertise in contemporary surgical techniques.

I have been in private practice since 2024 and am actively involved in research, medical education and the training of orthopaedic and plastic surgery trainees. I am a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, Australian Hand Surgery Society and Asia Pacific Wrist Association, and regularly contribute to peer-reviewed medical journals.

I have a public appointment at Eastern Health Box Hill. I consult and operate at Cabrini.
