I’m an ophthalmologist specialising in comprehensive anterior segment surgery, with a particular focus on cataract surgery and complex ocular procedures. With over a decade of experience across diverse healthcare systems internationally, I bring a depth of clinical expertise and a strong patient-centred approach to every aspect of care.

I graduated with honours in Medicine from University College Dublin and went on to complete a Doctor of Medicine (MD) for my research into innovations in cataract surgery. I’m a Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (MRCOphth) and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO).

My ophthalmology training began at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in Dublin, followed by advanced fellowship training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. During my fellowships in cataract and corneal surgery, I refined my skills in managing complex cataract cases, iridodialysis repairs, and corneal graft procedures (keratoplasties).

Research remains an important part of my work, and I’ve published widely in peer-reviewed journals on advancements in cataract and laser surgery. I’m also passionate about teaching and have enjoyed contributing to the training of resident doctors both in Ireland and Australia.

In recognition of my dedication to equitable care, I’ve been honoured to receive several scholarships and grants, including the RANZCO Indigenous and Remote Ophthalmology Scholarship, supporting my commitment to improving access to high-quality eye care in underserved communities.
