Mr Bryden Dawes

I obtained my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Monash University, graduating with honours in 2011. I undertook extensive neurosurgical training across Melbourne and Sydney, including at The Austin Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Macquarie University Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Royal Children’s Hospital. I was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2020. Throughout my surgical training, I also completed a Master of Surgery at Macquarie University and a Postgraduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy at the University of Melbourne.

Following the completion of my Australian training, I undertook a prestigious cerebrovascular and skull base fellowship at the University of Texas in Houston, USA. This experience significantly advanced my clinical and operative skills in the management of complex cerebrovascular and brain tumour conditions. I have developed particular expertise in cerebral bypass surgery and am among a select few surgeons in Australia trained in this highly complex procedure.

I am also passionate about minimally invasive spine surgery and have undertaken comprehensive training in this field both in Australia and the USA. I utilise the latest state-of-the-art technologies and techniques, including navigation, robotics, endoscopy and minimally invasive spinal fusion approaches.

In my practice, I emphasise holistic, evidence-based care and work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including fellow physicians and allied health professionals. I couple strong communication skills with a commitment to building meaningful patient relationships, to deliver the highest quality care.
