Dr Charlene Roufaeil

I am a neonatal specialist with extensive experience in tertiary neonatal units across Melbourne, managing complex and critically unwell babies. I have completed my training at Monash Newborn, The Royal Women’s Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital, Mercy Hospital for Women, and with PIPER. I am currently based at The Royal Women’s Hospital.

I am passionate about delivering family-centered, neurodevelopmentally appropriate care, with a strong focus on supporting parents in their baby’s journey. I believe parents are the most important people in their baby’s journey, and my goal is to empower families with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to feel comfortable and involved in every step of their baby’s care.

In addition to my clinical practice, I have a keen interest in digital health, medical education, mentoring junior doctors, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives that enhance outcomes for newborns and their families.
