Dr James Aridas

I am a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

My expertise encompasses comprehensive pregnancy care, maternal–fetal medicine and general gynaecology. I provide care for women throughout both routine and high-risk pregnancies, with a particular focus on twin pregnancies, fetal growth restriction, complex maternal and fetal conditions, vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC), breech birth, and the management of complex vaginal births.

I completed 18 months of accredited maternal–fetal medicine training at Mater Mothers’ Hospital and am a Consultant in Maternal–Fetal Medicine at Monash Health. I hold a PhD in perinatal medicine, with research focused on newborn brain injury and neuroprotection. My clinical experience spans metropolitan, regional, remote and humanitarian settings, including working with Médecins Sans Frontières in South Sudan.

At Cabrini, I consult at the Mother & Baby Centre, providing comprehensive obstetric care, in-room gynaecological procedures and surgery for appropriate benign gynaecological conditions.
