Dr Jazmin Eckhaus

I am an Australian-trained cardiothoracic surgeon with a sub-specialty thoracic surgical practice.

Since completing general cardiothoracic training in Australia, I have undertaken further training in thoracic oncology, chest trauma and minimally invasive thoracic surgery. My areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery including robotic and VATS surgery, lung cancer and pulmonary nodules, pleural disease such as pleural effusions, chest wall disease including thoracic outlet obstruction, airway lesions and thoracic endometriosis.

I am a founding member of the bi-national Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Thoracic Surgical Database. Which aims to improve the quality of surgery delivered across both countries. I have a master’s degree in practical ethics from Oxford University focused on the ethics of consent.

I welcome referrals for both operative candidates as well as those in whom intervention may not be indicated or desired, but who would benefit from the chance to discuss their concerns with a surgeon.
