Dr Kasmira Wilson
Colorectal Surgeon, General Surgeon
I am a specialist female colorectal and general surgeon with expertise in robotic and minimally invasive surgery.
I am a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand having completed colorectal fellowships at Auckland City Hospital, and The Alfred Hospital. I have also completed advanced fellowship training in colorectal and robotic surgery at Oxford University Hospitals (UK).
I completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne focused on translational rectal cancer research, including cancer immunology and predictive modelling of response to neoadjuvant therapy. My research explored personalised treatment approaches and has contributed to my ongoing interest in colorectal oncology, young onset colorectal cancer, and evidence-based patient care.
I provide comprehensive care for patients with bowel cancer and benign colorectal conditions, including diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, appendiceal tumours, small bowel tumours, haemorrhoids, anal fistula and fissure disease, and pelvic floor disorders including rectal prolapse. I also perform colonoscopy and bowel cancer screening procedures. I value a collaborative and evidence-based approach to care, with an emphasis on achieving the best possible outcomes with a focus on clear communication while supporting patients through their journey.
