Dr Kavita Kumareswaran

I am an endocrinologist with expertise in type 1 diabetes, including insulin pumps and continuous glucose sensors. I also manage type 2 diabetes, GDM, osteoporosis, thyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders.

I hold a staff appointment at The Alfred Hospital and an Adjunct Lecturer position at Monash University. I also consult at rooms in the CBD.

My PhD research at the University of Cambridge involved the first randomised controlled studies that evaluated the ‘artificial pancreas’ for treating diabetes. The system measures glucose and delivers insulin required via a pump in real-time.
