Dr Krishna Bhagwat

I am an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon who specialises in coronary artery bypass graft surgery, heart valve repairs and replacements. I am an expert in minimally invasive thoracic and cardiac surgery and thoracic oncology via uniportal approach and provide services in both public and private hospitals of Melbourne.

I completed my medical degree in 1996 and obtained a Master of General Surgery in 2002 specialising in cardiothoracic surgery in 2003. My experience in Australia and New Zealand include the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital, Alfred Hospital (heart and lung transplant surgery), Monash Hospital, Dunedin Hospital, Barwon Health Geelong and Royal Hobart Hospital.

I am an active member of the Academy of Surgical Educators with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a college appointed Supervisor of Surgical Education and Training in cardiothoracic surgery with multiple journal publications in heart and lung surgery.
