Dr Lukas Sahhar
Ophthalmologist
I am a comprehensive specialist ophthalmologist with fellowship training in cataract and refractive surgery, and I also provide care across all aspects of general ophthalmology.
Living and working in Melbourne’s Bayside community allows me to deliver personalised, patient-centred eye care to local patients. I am committed to achieving the best possible visual outcomes through evidence-based treatment, clear communication, and a collaborative approach to care.
I completed my medical training at Monash University, where I was awarded the Robert Power Prize in Surgery, the Neil Carson Prize in Medicine, the Monash Health Board of Management Prize, the Belinda Farrell Medicine Prize, and the Hector Maclean Prize in Ophthalmology. I subsequently completed an Honours research degree with the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford and a Master of Public Health. During my ophthalmology training, I was awarded the Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society Kath Holmes Prize. I further advanced my subspecialty expertise by completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery through Ulster University in the United Kingdom.
