I am a triple-qualified academic surgeon working as a specialist paediatric surgeon at Monash Children’s Hospital and as a senior research fellow at Monash University.

I obtained my medical degree in Italy at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 2000 and completed my training in paediatric surgery in 2005 before moving to the United Kingdom to focus on my career in clinical research.

I completed additional training in paediatric surgery in United Kingdom at various hospitals and also trained for one year at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

I was granted the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2016 and the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2022.

I have a strong passion for clinical research, focussed on minimally invasive surgery and randomised controlled trials, and have been awarded prizes for my research by a number of prestigious institutions.

I have published over 100 articles in peer review scientific journals, five chapters in books and I am the author of more than 150 presentations at international conferences.

I have also established the vascular anomaly multidisciplinary team at Monash Children’s Hospital.
