Dr Shane Selvanderan

I am an Australian and internationally trained specialist Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist. I have specific interest and expertise in pancreaticobiliary disease, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy, but I welcome referrals for all manner of gastroenterology and hepatology conditions.

I completed two dedicated interventional endoscopy fellowships at the Alfred Hospital, and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. I then returned to Melbourne to take up a public appointment at the Alfred, which I combine with private practice based at Cabrini Malvern and in Surrey Hills.

My services include consultations in gastroenterology, high-quality diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as a range of advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), capsule endoscopy, balloon enteroscopy, per-oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) for achalasia and endoscopic treatment of large polyps and early gastrointestinal tract cancers with endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).
