Dr Sinjini Biswas
Cardiologist
I am an interventional and structural cardiologist with expertise in the assessment and management of coronary artery disease, complex coronary intervention, and minimally invasive structural heart procedures. I am passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based cardiovascular care tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
I completed my undergraduate medical training and specialist cardiology training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. I was subsequently awarded scholarships from the National Heart Foundation and the NHMRC to undertake a PhD at The Alfred Hospital. Following this, I completed advanced subspecialty training in interventional cardiology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the Bristol Royal Infirmary in the United Kingdom. I then worked as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Bristol Royal Infirmary for several years before returning to Melbourne.
My clinical practice focuses on the assessment of chest pain, the treatment of coronary artery disease using advanced intracoronary imaging and complex coronary intervention techniques, and the minimally invasive treatment of aortic stenosis with transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). As one of only a small number of female interventional cardiologists in Australia, I have a particular interest in heart disease in women and improving cardiovascular outcomes for female patients.
