Mr Ramez Bassari

I am a New Zealand and Australian trained surgeon. I am a specialist General Surgeon and I also have sub-specialist training and qualifications in the areas of Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric surgery. I am GESA-accredited to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy, including polypectomy, stents and rubber band ligation.

I completed my medical degree in 2004 at the University of Auckland. This was followed by specialist surgical training (FRACS) which I completed in 2012. This was followed by further training/sub-specialisation in the fields of Bariatric/Metabolic and Upper Gastrointestinal surgery for a further 4 years. This included 2 years through the competitive AANZGOSA training scheme.

I am involved with the training of surgical registrars (future surgeons) and I attend regular scientific meetings both nationally and internationally, in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.

I consult and operate at Cabrini Malvern.
