Katrina Ngo: Adding heart to numbers at Cabrini

In the bustling corridors of Cabrini, where numbers can make all the difference, there’s a figure who adds a touch of heart to the balance sheets – Katrina Ngo. As we celebrate Patient Experience Week, Cabrini shines a spotlight on Katrina, a senior finance business partner whose dedication goes beyond dollars and cents.

At Cabrini, where excellence in Patient Experience is not just a goal but a way of life, Katrina stands out as a prime example of blending professionalism with profound humanity.

With seven years of service under her belt, Katrina is more than just an accredited CPA; she is core to our ability to continue to provide superior care to our patients. Managing a staggering 55 cost centres and overseeing financial reports across Cabrini Malvern, her role might seem confined to number-crunching and accounting standards, but without her dedication and flexibility, a whole range of functions across the hospital would cease to operate.

Collaborating closely with her team leaders, she infuses her financial acumen with empathy, ensuring the human impact of financial decisions is understood and advocated for. It’s not just about the bottom line for Katrina. “It’s about bringing joy and comfort to those who need it most,” she said.

In a recent heart-warming initiative, Katrina collaborated with the Paediatric team, spreading joy to the children in the ward. Going beyond her usual duties, she seized the chance to make a profound impact on lives, by working with colleagues to help assist in acquiring toys and equipment, bringing smiles to the faces of children in the ward.

Every number she crunches, every decision she makes, is infused with a sense of purpose. “A purpose rooted in compassion and a genuine desire to make a positive impact,” said Katrina.

As Patient Experience Week unfolds, Cabrini honours Katrina Ngo and all her colleagues in finance, for the genuine but little recognised impact they have on Patient Experience.
