Cardiology research wins publication of the year 2021

A ground breaking study has significantly strengthened the role of lifestyle interventions and the management of atrial fibrillation. The paper, published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine in 2020, explored the impact of alcohol abstinence on atrial fibrillation in the first ever randomised study.  The research has had an incredible impact, resulting in alcohol reduction now being included in the American Heart Association lifestyle guidelines in management of atrial fibrillation. You can read more about this outstanding publication led by Professor Peter Kistler, awarded the Cabrini Research 2021 Publication of the Year Award.
