Perioperative Services

At Cabrini you will work with a highly experienced and established team on a range of diverse and complex surgeries at both of our campus’s. Our perioperative teams can work across both Cabrini Malvern and Brighton hospitals. Nurses in our service are encouraged to work across a multitude of speciality areas to broaden their skills and knowledge of the patient’s perioperative journey. The perioperative service is strongly committed to education and ongoing professional development, with education and support for; graduate nurses, post graduate nurses, transition to specialty practice for nurses and theatre technicians. Students are supported and their clinical practice facilitated by a perioperative clinical facilitator.

The Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD) has the latest technology designed to significantly reduce manual handling. Large assembly and storage areas provide an optimum working environment, where instruments are processed to the highest standard for each procedure.

Cabrini Perioperative Services Malvern is a vibrant and dynamic environment with 19 operating theatres including a hybrid theatre, three endoscopy rooms and two cardiac cath labs in a spacious and modern facility.

Providing a full range of surgical specialties, we perform more than 1800 operations each month. Every theatre and cath lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to assist us in providing the highest standard of patient-centred care. Prior to surgery, staff focus on every patient having a positive experience starting with their admission to theatre. Our post-anaesthetic care units and discharge lounges cater for all specialist post-operative requirements. Cabrini Malvern has recently opened two brand new state of the art theatres in May, offering a further 20 theatre sessions per week.

Cabrini Brighton Perioperative Services is a caring yet dynamic environment with 5 operating theatres and 1 stand-alone endoscopy suite. Providing a range of surgical specialties from Orthopaedic to general breast surgery, urology and ophthalmology we perform approximately 800 operations each month, ensuring patient centred care. Our day-of-surgery admissions focus on every patient having a positive experience with their admission to theatre, while our Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit and discharge lounge cater for all specialist post-operative care requirements.

• Scrub specialities including Orthopaedic, Urology/Gynaecology ENT, Plastics Ophthalmology, General surgery, Oncoplastic Breast surgery, Endoscopy & Paediatric surgery.
