I am a Melbourne-based ophthalmologist specialising in the management of glaucoma and cataract. I’m passionate about delivering world-class care, combining extensive clinical experience with a commitment to the latest surgical advancements and evidence-based techniques.

After completing my medical degree with first class honours in Australia, I undertook hospital residency and ophthalmology training locally before being invited to complete prestigious subspecialty fellowship training in Cambridge, United Kingdom. There, I gained high-volume surgical experience in complex glaucoma and cataract cases, refining the advanced surgical skills I use in practice today. I believe every eye deserves meticulous, individualised care, and I continually strive to improve my techniques and offer patients the most effective and cutting-edge treatments available.

I currently work at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital’s Glaucoma Unit and privately at Eye Surgery Associates, Melbourne. I also serve as an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne and Centre for Eye Research Australia. I’m actively involved in the training of medical students, ophthalmology registrars, and glaucoma fellows.

As a clinical researcher, I’ve published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and co-authored a respected textbook on Ocular and Visual Physiology. My research focuses on patient-centred glaucoma management, including quality of life outcomes and emerging innovations like online visual field testing.

I’m also deeply committed to advocacy. I’m the immediate Past President of Glaucoma Australia, serve on the executive of the Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society, and contribute to committees for the World Glaucoma Association. Through these roles, I aim to enhance awareness, improve patient outcomes, and drive innovation in glaucoma care globally. I have a passion for using digital technology to improve glaucoma services and patients’ experiences. In 2020 he founded Eyeonic, supported by Microsoft, to provide online perimetry on any computer or tablet.
