Dr Weng Ng
Ophthalmologist
I’m an experienced ophthalmic surgeon with a subspecialty focus in cataract and glaucoma surgery. I tailor my surgical approach to each patient, using monofocal, EDOF, or trifocal intraocular lenses based on their individual needs and lifestyle. For patients at risk of glaucoma-related vision loss, I offer personalised treatment options including MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma surgery), trabeculectomy, and tube shunt procedures.
I completed my medical degree with Honours at The University of Melbourne in 1999 and was honoured to receive the RANZCO Undergraduate Ophthalmology Prize for Victoria, the Keith Levi Memorial Scholarship for Medicine, and the RD Wright Prize for Physiology. I later completed a Master of Public Health at James Cook University before beginning my ophthalmology training through RANZCO at Sydney Eye Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital. I then undertook a Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Fellowship in Perth, where I gained extensive experience in complex cataract, glaucoma, and anterior segment surgery.
Previously, I was a Visiting Consultant at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and The Alfred Hospital. I now work exclusively in private practice at Eye Surgery Associates (Cabrini, Doncaster, and Vermont South) and Southern Eye Centre in Frankston.
