I’m an ophthalmologist with a special interest in the medical and surgical management of inflammatory eye diseases, including uveitis, scleritis, ocular infections, and eye conditions linked to systemic disease. In addition to my subspecialty work, I also see patients with general ophthalmic conditions such as cataract and glaucoma, as well as common medical retinal conditions like diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.

I continue to perform surgery and work in both general eye clinics and diabetic eye clinics. Over the years, I’ve also contributed to international aid projects in Kiribati, Tonga, and Vanuatu—experiences that have deepened my commitment to global eye health.

My academic and research background focuses on the management of infectious and inflammatory eye disease, as well as cataract and glaucoma surgery, particularly in patients with diabetes or uveitis. I studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and completed my basic ophthalmology training in Melbourne from 1987 to 1989. I then completed a Research Fellowship at Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital, focusing on viral eye disease and cytomegalovirus retinitis.

In 1991 and 1992, I undertook a dedicated uveitis fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Later, I continued my research abroad as a visiting research associate at the Proctor Foundation at UCSF in 1999 and the University of Padua in Italy in 2010.
