Neurology diagnostics

At Cabrini, we know that the best neurological treatment begins with an accurate and timely diagnosis.

Our diagnostic services include pathology and medical imaging, where we offer advanced imaging including MRI and PET/CT scanners, which provide superior imaging quality. Our experienced team of neuroradiologists and neuropathologists specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions.

Pathology and medical imaging diagnostic services are located at both Malvern and Brighton hospitals and are available for inpatients and outpatients.

Malvern neurophysiology diagnostic clinic

The clinic is located in Suite 53, at Cabrini’s Malvern hospital and offers testing for a wide range of conditions affecting the central and peripheral nervous systems. The overall aim of this type of testing is to aid or confirm diagnosis, or to guide management, of the patient’s neuromuscular disorder.

Testing services include:

  • Electroencephalography (EEG), which examines the electrical activity generated by the brain.
  • Electromyography (EMG), which measures muscle response or electrical activity in response to a nerves stimulation of the muscle.
  • Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), which examines the function of the nerves by stimulating the nerves using small electrical pulses.
