Double the joy for Mother’s Day

12/05/2019

New mum Tania Zaetta says giggles, laughs and daily milestones make motherhood worthwhile.

The former Who Dares Wins host acknowledges that being a parent is her biggest challenge yet but says she wouldn’t change a thing.

Tania gave birth to twins Alby and Kenzie Rogers at Cabrini Malvern on 5th September 2018. They are the first children for the now 49 year old and her long-time partner Chris Rogers, 35.

“Every day they have new milestones, even the simplest thing like grabbing their nose or ears is a discovery,” she says.

Despite her many roles as a television celebrity, Bollywood actress, Pilates instructor and wellness guru with a successful online natural health and essential oils business, she says spending time at home with the twins is now her number one priority.

“I waited so long to be a mum that I would kick myself if I missed any special moments,” she said being a twin mum had its challenges but people were always willing to help out.

“There is always someone around more than happy to hold a baby for you,” she laughs.

Looking forward to spending her first Mother’s Day with her twins and partner Chris, Tania said it was the simple moments she cherished.

“I’m still in disbelief that I’m a mum and like any new mum all I’d really like would be a sleep in. Then nice brunch out and a stroll along the beach with my family.”

Tania said her own mother was in adoration of how well she had adjusted to motherhood.

“My mum says I am so relaxed with them but I think you have to be. When you have two babies with dirty nappies wriggling around on change tables you just have to laugh it off. No two days are ever the same and your day never goes by the book but the more relaxed and unflustered you can be, the better.”

She adds the midwives at Cabrini’s special care nursery had given her a crash course in parenting before she left the hospital.

“Because the babies were born premature, as twins often are, they spent the first three and a half weeks of their life in Cabrini’s special care nursery. Although it was hard not being able to take them home immediately after they were born, the plus side was that myself and Chris received invaluable hands-on training from the midwives, which really helped with our confidence when we eventually got to take them home.”

“The midwives are amazing, the support we received in those first few weeks made all the difference.”

Now eight months old, the twins are happy and healthy and on the verge of crawling.

Tania said she didn’t have long before she would be chasing them around. “The next few weeks will be a game changer, they will be crawling in different directions and I’ll just be trying to keep up.”
